Mateo 23:37-39<\/strong><\/p>

37\u00a0<\/sup><\/em><\/strong>Jerusal\u00e9n, Jerusal\u00e9n, que matas a los profetas y apedreas a los que te son enviados, \u00a1cu\u00e1ntas veces quise juntar a tus hijos, como la gallina junta sus polluelos debajo de las alas, y no quisiste!\u00a038<\/sup><\/strong>\u00abBendito el que viene en el nombre del Se\u00f1or.<\/em><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Jes\u00fas usa la imagen de una gallina que acorrala a sus polluelos bajo sus alas para protegerlos de los depredadores o de los elementos. Y los polluelos son ajenos al peligro, ajenos al acecho del depredador o a la crudeza de los elementos.\u00a0<\/p>

\u201cJerusal\u00e9n, Jerusal\u00e9n\u201d<\/em> \u2014un grito tan desgarrador de los labios de Jes\u00fas sobre la ciudad y el pueblo que amaba. En lugar de elogiar su capacidad para guardar la ley de Dios y reflejar la gloria del Dios de Israel, Jes\u00fas los describe como un pueblo que mata a los mismos mensajeros que Dios les ha enviado. La lapidaci\u00f3n se describ\u00eda en el Antiguo Testamento como un castigo para quienes se manifestaban en contra de Dios de diversas maneras y con diversos comportamientos. Era una muerte brutal y se utilizaba para desalentar comportamientos que contradec\u00edan las promesas de su pacto. Al describir la lapidaci\u00f3n como su forma de matar a los profetas, Jes\u00fas est\u00e1 diciendo en efecto... \u00a1Us\u00e1is el mensaje de Dios para matar a los mensajeros de Dios!<\/em><\/p>

Hoy en d\u00eda no se apedrea mucho. Pero no se necesita mucho tiempo navegando por Facebook para encontrar cristianos que usan la palabra de Dios como arma contra quienes creen o act\u00faan de forma un poco diferente. En lugar de intentar encubrir y proteger, siento un impulso muy r\u00e1pido de lanzar piedras, de defender mi postura menospreciando a alguien.<\/p>

Al hacer esto, no se equivoquen, de ninguna manera demostramos el car\u00e1cter del Dios que intentamos defender. Jes\u00fas dej\u00f3 muy claro en Juan 8 que el hecho de tener una justificaci\u00f3n b\u00edblica no nos justifica para tomar la primera piedra.\u00a0<\/p>

Quiz\u00e1s hoy, en Cuaresma, sea un buen d\u00eda para ponernos del lado de Jes\u00fas. Para contemplar la ciudad y a la gente de nuestros barrios, tanto f\u00edsicos como virtuales, y en lugar de buscar la manera de recoger una piedra, buscar la manera de ofrecer protecci\u00f3n. Necesitamos mirar a un grupo de personas de otra manera: para ayudar a alguien a encontrar la seguridad de Jes\u00fas. Para cambiar las piedras en nuestras manos por las plumas de una gallina amorosa. Quiz\u00e1s tambi\u00e9n descubramos que las plumas son m\u00e1s c\u00f3modas que las piedras.\u00a0<\/p>
